Meet the Basco Family
Melai and Mark Basco welcomed their baby boy, Marc, in November of 2012. When he was born, he faced some challenging medical concerns. The Basco family was then introduced to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland NW, and it soon became their home away from home for 18 months. The community helped the family in their dire situation by providing a place to rest, eat and heal.
After Marc’s passing in May of 2014, the Basco’s decided to give back to the community by remembering Marc through a month of service and support to the facility. They plan to expand this cause to different RMHC chapters with the help of their partners and friends. His memory, love and light will be forever remembered by the family, friends, and community that continue to give back.

The Basco family now operates a financial wellness business that has a mission to embrace family, fitness, fun, finance, and faith. They hope that by doing this they can encourage others to Give Love, Give Life, and Give Change.
Join the Challenge
In honor of Marc, the Basco family challenges the community to walk one mile with love and kindness every day for the month leading up to his birthday, on November 28th. They ask that you consider donating $5 for every mile you walk to RMHC.
Your contribution will help provide:
- Warm meals after long hospital days
- Clean rooms and laundry facilities for families to stay in and use
- Supportive services that make hard times a little easier
- Essential services so families can focus on what matters most: the health of their child

Every day from October 28th through November 28th walk or run one mile. Then visit this page to make a $5 contribution to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland NW.
