Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest's Teen Board kicked off the 2018-19 school year with their first meeting on September 17th!
The 2018-2019 Teen Board includes 55 local Spokane high school students. High school is a busy and exciting time for students balancing school, sports, extracurricular activities, and friendships. These high school students devote their time and energy in order to help support families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest (RMHC InNW).
The students on the RMHC InNW Teen Board act as advocates within their school and community, and assist with sharing the RMHC mission. In hopes of supporting and introducing the mission of RMHC to other students, the members are encouraged to host their own fundraisers within their school. In addition, members of the Teen Board also assist at RMHC InNW signature events and other volunteer activities within the Ronald McDonald House itself. These activities include helping decorate the house for the holidays, preparing meals for the families, and spring/fall cleaning projects.
Volunteers are an important aspect of RMHC InNW and allow us to better serve the families staying at the house. Without the volunteers, we would not be able to serve these families to the capacity we do. Thanks to the Teen Board members for all of their hard work and dedication to help the families at the house.
We look forward to another great year with these amazing students by our side!
